Leigh Henderson, Ph.D., C.Psych
Clinical Psychologist
(he/him/his)
Presenting Concerns: I offer therapy for adults struggling with issues like:
Anxiety (e.g., social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, generalized anxiety and worry)
Chronic pain
Grief and loss
Life transitions and relationship issues
Approach: My aim is to help you reach your goals by clarifying what’s most important to you and then working together to eliminate barriers to those goals. We’ll focus on experimenting with various psychological tools to determine what works best for you and implement strategies to help you build the life you want.
I work primarily from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) orientations and always approach therapy from a client-centered perspective founded on collaboration, respect, and non-judgment.
Training/Experience: I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University. My dissertation research focused on the relationship between religiosity, spirituality, and obsessive-compulsive thought patterns and behaviours. My predoctoral residency was at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), with rotations in the Mood and Anxiety Ambulatory Service (MAAS) and Work, Stress, and Health (WSH) Clinics. I subsequently remained at CAMH as a staff psychologist in the WSH Clinic following my residency.
